The 3rd Mediterranean World Cup Competition is taking place over five competition days between Monday 14^th June and Sunday 20^th June.

 

The competition is going to be an AIDA Ranking Competition and will have World Record Status. Each competition day the athletes will have the option to dive in the discipline they choose between CWT / CNF / FIM. 

During the World Cup we can accommodate a maximum of 60 athletes for each training / competition day. Safety will be provided using an AIDA regulation compliant motorized counter weight ballast system and experienced safety freedivers. Oxygen will be available on the boat and medical support (Medical Doctor and trained First Aid Providers) will be available during the competition.

 

Athletes requiring O2 decompression (surface or at depth) during the competition are requested to contact the event organizers at the time of registration in order to make special arrangements.

The Mediterranean World Cup Competition is a TEAM & INDIVIDUAL competition. 

 

Individual Winners (M/F) will be selected according to the sum of the points scored in each of the 3 depth disciplines (the athlete’s best performance will be taken into account if he/she achieves more than one successful dive per discipline) during the competition. Calculating overall points athletes will be granted a 25 point bonus for a World Record Performance and a 10 point bonus for a National Record performance.

 

For the Team Competition National teams of 3 athletes will compete and the sum of their individual results (as per the Individual Category above) will give the team result. Male and Female National teams will be considered according to AIDA regulations. Team registration can be done by the AIDA National or the team members themselves. Teams with more than 3 members can select which team members scores will be considered for the team results before the 1st competition day. Changes in the makeup of the team will only be accepted for medical reasons and as per AIDA World Championships regulations.

 

Performances of Athletes participating in the Team Competition will also be considered in the individual competition.

Freedivers participating at the 3rd Mediterranean World Cup freedivers must present a valid medical certificate, issued no earlier than 1 year prior to the start of the event, at the event registration.
